Grief CounsellinG

$150/hr

My approach to grief counselling is pluralistic; drawn from leading theoretical understandings of grief and utilizing the most current grief frameworks and evidence-based interventions.

I use validated grief assessment tools to identify and distinguish between disordered and natural grief, and use these assessments, along with information from you, about you and your loss, to inform the creation of grief support plan that is tailored to suit your particular needs and concerns.

I work with people exclusively by phone and/or online and find this to be an effective and comfortable environment for most grief counselling.

Grief support Groups

$120-$150 per group (depending on the group's duration)

Groups are offered on an as needed basis.

PROLONGED Grief Disorder Treatment (PGDT)

$200/hr (16 one hour sessions)

A small percentage of people experience a form of severe and intense grief that doesn’t change over time. After much consultation, the American Psychological Association has chosen the term Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) to refer to this form of grief which is also referred to as complicated, persistent, or complex grief. PGD is not the same thing as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Major Depression, although people suffering with PGD may also experience these other conditions.

If you find that your grief remains very intense, worsens over time, or is so overwhelming that you are having difficulty with most activities, you may be suffering from Prolonged Grief Disorder. I am a trained PGDT therapist and have completed years of advanced instruction and supervision in Prolonged Grief Disorder Treatment through the Center for Prolonged Grief at Columbia University.
